Welcome to Hyggeligt Hjem og Køkken. When I first created this website, I focused primarily on furniture and home design. Now that I am a new mama and my family has grown, the site has expanded to a lifestyle blog focused on Scandinavian styles with information on great recipes, design, crafts and travel tips. I hope you enjoy :).

NYIGF 2013
I went to the NYIGF yesterday and saw some great new pieces to add to the home. Two of my favorites were the watering cans below, as well as the new special edition Stelton Vacuum jugs.

A Winter Fiesta
To warm up a little on these cold January nights I am having some girl friends over for a January Fiesta. We are also celebrating two of my friends birthday's so I made Mexican Hot Chocolate Cupcakes with a Cinnamon Cream cheese frosting, Yum! There is not much that is more hyggelig than good food, friends, and wine.

Open Shelving
Since the day we moved in , we have wanted to install open shelving. It was difficult to find shelving that would not take up any visual space and would fit into our apartment perfectly. In December Vipp started selling these wall shelves in Europe and just this January opened that up to the North American Market. Yesterday we installed them, well Tim did. These shelves fit in with the style of our kitchen and free up our existing cabinets. I can't wait to add our new wine glasses to these shelves.
