The North Fork, the dog friendly version

My husband starts work upstate on Monday, so we thought we would take a little day trip out to the north fork as a family while it's still relatively close. When you have a dog, it's often hard  to find dog friendly spots on a road trip, but we were able to have her out of the car and in the fresh air with us everywhere we went today.

We started the day (at noon) at this winery where she was allowed inside while we had our tasting and out on the deck for a glass of wine after. There is also this winery just down the street which is also very dog friendly if you are making a day of it.

Our next stop was in Mattituck on Love Lane where we ate lunch (here), great food, service, and a good mix of people. This was only a 5 minute drive from the vineyards.

It's often difficult to find dog friendly beaches on the east coast from May 1st through October 1st, however there was a tiny beach called Bailie Beach where dogs are welcome year round, leashed. It was beautiful, and quiet.

I had wanted to stop in this shop, however they are closed on Wednesdays.

Heading out of the city to the North Fork is absolutely possible to enjoy with the whole family. It was also a great excuse to have dedicated knitting time as I gear up to finally start selling my own knits this fall.
